You're the all-singing, all-dancing CRAP of the world

Why are you reading this? Why are you wasting precious minutes of your life? Is it because you have nothing better to do then read stories about me? Am I like a God to you people? Are my words that inspiring? I'd like to think so, but then I think about it logically. WHY are you reading stories about me? Did you watch the film, perhaps even read the book. Were the trailers that good? Were people raving about that amazing book and film called Fight Club? You didn't need to buy that film or book. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. Why waste your money? Because you're a clone. A space monkey. You go along with the crowd. You want to fit in, either consciously or not. Brad Pitt. Edward Norton. Helena Bonham Carter. You love them. They're 'amazing' actors. But really you're just following the crowd. You don't like them as actors, not really. You like the hype that surrounds them. You want their glamorous lifestyles. But what you need to understand is that you'll never get that lifestyle. You've been raised by television to believe that one day you'll be a millionaire, or a rock star, or even a movie star. But they're lying to you. You'll always be in your dead end job. You'll always be in stuck in that shitty education system. But don't worry, I can help you. Stop reading this. Pick up the phone and quit your job. Get out of the house and meet someone. Start a fight. Live. Become one of God's unwanted children. Realise that your life isn't a perfectly formed shell that you can hide away in. If you don't claim your humanity now then you'll become a statistic. You have been warned... Tyler

My take on the universe

Every once in a while, I stay up a bit later than usual, and just wonder about what's beyond us, over the stars and far away. Although I have a pretty clear notion of the size of the Universe and its age, and I know that it looks somewhat like a bubble, I still find it hard to integrate its vastness into my head. And, to make things worse, no one seems to be able to tell us for sure how the whole thing was formed. Admittedly, some say that it was made by God, while others say that physics played a major part. Don't worry, I won't turn this editorial into a debate between creationism and evolution. Definitely, the most mind-boggling thing about our Universe is that it could, potentially, fit into a single grain of sand. That is to say, for world is beyond it. This idea was exploited in the Men in Black movie, which featured the catchphrase “the galaxy is on Orion's belt,” where Orion was just a small kitten, which carried a little glass sphere on its collar. The sphere contained a full-grown galaxy, millions of light-years across. But the relativity of scale is one of the fundamental truths of the whole design. In astronomical terms, objects that are near to each other may take thousands of years to travel between, even on ships going as fast as 10 kilometers per second. Our nearest neighboring solar system is 75,000 years of travel away, yet, on the grand scheme of things, it's very, very near. And, come to think of it, that there are so many billions of stars everywhere. Just imagine that many of the lights we see in the sky at night aren't stars, but entire galaxies, shining bright because of their massive size. Moreover, each of them features millions and millions of stars, each with its own solar system. And they all revolve around the all-present black hole, either super-massive or small, which makes all galaxies spin. However, even galaxy clusters and impressive black hole fade away at the sight of the majesty of the Universe. According to one theory, the whole thing started about 13.7 billion years ago, with the Big Bang, and it began to expand, thus giving birth to everything around us, and more. When I say more, I'm talking about dark matter and dark energy, the mystery concepts that denote forces that shouldn't theoretically be there, but are nonetheless.

Hooray! Rooney returns

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney could be in line for an early return to action against Newcastle in the Capital One Cup tomorrow. The England man suffered a deep gash on his thigh in the Premier League fixture against Fulham on August 25 after a coming together with Hugo Rodallega. After the incident, it was suggested Rooney could be out for as long as two months but it would now appear the striker is on the verge of a return. "He is not far away," manager Alex Ferguson told reporters. "He's doing a lot of great training and has been working hard." Rooney is yet to find the net this season, and with summer signings Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa taking the opportunity to impress in the 26-year-old's absence, the England striker will face a battle to cement his place in the side. Although should Rooney return to action tomorrow, he will be delighted with the visitors to Old Trafford. Rooney has a fine goal-scoring record against the Magpies, with nine goals, including a stunning volley in the 2004/05 season.

Sports as a whole

Let me start by saying I am a Seattle Seahawks fan. Actually, a Seattle sports fan in general. Before you jump all over me for what happened last night, give me a chance to clear the air. Green Bay Packer fans owners you should be mad, you should be irate, about the call that decided the game. At what has been so aptly named, ‘The Russel Wilson Game Winning Interception”. But in no way was this the Seahawks fault or the city of Seattle. I have already seen one post about how the Seahawks are the dirtiest team in the NFL. The reasoning being that they didn’t admit the touchdown was actually an interception. Which makes zero sense, like admitting anything would change the NFL or the refs mind. They went to McDonalds and ended up with a free large fry in their bag and they graciously ate it. Like we all have done at some point in our life. Sure, they could have gone back and said, “this isn’t our fry” but like any good McDonalds, the employee would just throw it away or tell them to keep it. The NFL is McDonalds. Green Bay, we in Seattle understand your pain more than any other city. We have been robbed. Super Bowl XL was a disaster and those were the real referees. Shoot, our freaking NBA team was stolen from us. Even when our Mariners had a record 116 win season, they lost in the playoffs. We understand the crappy feeling you are dealing with as you go through your day. The sense that you were wronged. We have been there. However, Green Bay, NFL fans, and random observers it is time to admit a few things: M.D. Jennings played that wrong. He should have done what coaches teach from pee-wee football. Bat the ball away, don’t try to pad stats. Especially in this situation, for if he had batted it away the Packers win and the fate doesn’t rest on the referees. Jennings played that selfish. The referees were blowing calls the entire game. In fact, there was a play that led to a Packer touchdown when Brandon Browner was called for a pass interference that on further review was a bad call. It was equally bad the entire game for both teams…until the last play. The NFL has full-time replay referees that aren’t on lock-out. The man in the booth had an opportunity to change the call, he didn’t. While the replacement referees are bad, it ultimately came down to a regular referee. Green Bay shouldn’t come out so flat in the first half. The Green Bay offense is better than what they showed in the first two quarters. The Seahawks totaled eight sacks and kept Aaron Rodgers and company from scoring. This high powered Packer team shouldn’t have been in the situation where it came down to a rookie quarterback throwing a hail-mary. Granted the Seahawks defense looks to be legit but if Green Bay played they way they did in the second half the whole game, it would have been a different ball-game. None of that will make you feel better, I know the feeling, but let’s blame the right people. And remember, that Seattle feels your pain.

Opening My Eyes

There is something that I have in mind, which is really worth sharing...last Thursday, High School  Bukit Mertajam was chosen to hold the district level Teacher's Day celebration ( a belated one...). At first, I thought such agenda might just be a simple one, but something else interesting happened. The speeches were boring as usual, until a point where there was this musical performance by a group of visually-impaired students ( not adults.!!..). That particular slot just made me realise something that I've never thought before...maybe I was too dumb....the performance was quite short...perhaps most of the audience might have thought that they are just a well-trained group, which performs for the sake of doing something different on the stage by the name of ENTERTAINMENT, (the rest were dreaming with or without their eyes open )

Put yourselves in their shoes...we might not be able to even imagine that dark moment of our life if we were BLIND! It is gonna spare me terrible nightmares, but, at the same time, we should MUST think of their plight of being doomed in the world of darkness. Let me ask you guys something........How would you describe LIGHT to a blind person? Put on your thinking cap NOW.. Is it something BRIGHT? What is bright then? Normal humans like us learn LIGHT practically, but we have never thought of its theoritical description....

Now, that is how precious our EYES are to us.

Their hardships are far wilder than our imaginations can reach. Imagine, they never know TV and internet. They never know colours, their own appearances, beauty of nature, etc. They couldn't choose for themselves the food they like, the garments they prefer, their handsets, ornaments, and so on. Do they know how their parents look like? Many questions keep popping out without being answered..

My point doesn't really stop here. In spite of such conditions, their talents in playing instruments do not really matter to me, bacause the confidence I saw in them had nullified them all. But, there are people among us, maybe we ourselves, who do not really appreciate the gift of sight. Most of them might as well misuse them, like enjoying looking at people at loggerheads, watching porn, sleeping unnecessarily...what's the point?
Eyes might not seem important to us, but we will know the value of it when it is gone..!

In body language, eyes are the MAIN ENTRANCE to one's brains. Hence, we must actually use our organs for noble purposes. I know a place in Brickfields, its a place for the blinds, so every morning, you'd be able see the blind people all around the place. They could actually survive alone. You can even see dozens of blind massage centre just within a few kilometres radius from that place. That IS survival, people! These people are great....when the performance was over, I voluntarily went to help over to get them backstage..and that was when I told them that their performances were fantastic! Again, their smile moved me again! If I'm not mistaken, they are still in their primary schools, but I'm not ashamed to learn from them. Even with their closed eyes, they have already openned my eyes....

Lost

I had a friend, who is a few years elder than me. He's already off-school now, so basically I had no contact with him. He was not a High School student,..I used to meet him in my van. I have never met him for almost three years. He was a nice guy, good joker, very joyous person, and mingles around with everyone. Just that he had the passion in motorbikes.
Yesterday, I got to know about him. He had just passed away in an accident. Just 20 years old. I myself got shocked to death upon hearing the news. It was a terrible one... he, on his bike, crashed on a car and lorry. He suffered from serious skull and mandible injuries..and died on the spot.
Listen, fatal accidents have been a norm in our country. After all, I never know how it feels to experience an incident like this. Now, I felt it! He is no more! Now, you should know why I used past tenses to describe him earlier.
We ourselves might get mad if any our precious belongings go missing. The world will only continue revolving when we find them back! Imagine his parents....they have brought up their son so welll, with all his necessary needs, parental care and discipline. And now he's is no more! You would be able to judge his parents, by looking at him. CHILDREN ARE ALWAYS THEIR PARENTS' REFLECTION.. We can never imagine his parents' devastation. A 20 years' HUMAN treasure is now gone! No words could describe those feelings!! Maybe I'm not quite good at explaining this, but I'll tell you something. To those who ride bikes out there, ride it very safely and always remember your parents hope on you in your life. I bet you wouldn't want to sacrifice your LIFE to those lifeless engines!
However, I got a chance to drop by his home. There was this funeral going on. And I saw him there. I could see the difference in him. His looks are still the same, just that he was smiling at me a few years ago and now, he couldn't even stir a muscle in the poor coffin. And I never missed looking at his PARENTS and friends, shedding tears for him. Whatever it is, something clicked in my mind! It doesn't really matter for how long we live! When we are dead one day, there must be at least one person who actually mourns for us, that excludes parents. If there isn't any, even 100 years of happy life is merely POINTLESS! That is where human life stands. Look at yourself, what good have you done in your life? I mean, death may approach anytime, even now! If something like that happens, will your friends and relatives be sad for you, or vice versa? How many of them? Judge yourself...is the life you are living now really worth?
This guy is too young to deserve death. Yet, he has left his permanent footsteps in everybody's heart forever, including mine. There is absolutely no point in crying over spilt milk, what's wrong in being extra careful in life? Human life is so precious. We might not realise its value until we see somebody lying breathless. I've seen it, and never want to see anything like that anymore....

My First Word

Hi, just to be telling you that I'm very new here. I might just be a novice to blogging, but I'm sure that I will be making something out of it. I could have started blogging earlier, but I didn't have that passion in blogging..( I hateD blogging )...but now, out of nowhere, I got that tiny interest to blog, I never knew why till now..maybe it might just be too complicated in me, that I really want to share it out to the entire world. Sharing might just be the best way to acquire many GIFTS, like friendship, and to discard several unwanted TRASHES, like problems. For senior bloggers who read this, please do not mind any nonsense posts, I promise I'll work very hard to improve my upcoming posts.Thank you, world. My Mind has started speaking.....
